The Department of Health and Social Care and Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities are asking for views on what the Older People’s Housing Taskforce should consider to further understand the market and needs for older people’s housing in England today, and to provide recommendations to ministers on how it can be shaped for the future, particularly for those of lower and middle incomes.
The call for evidence forms part of a range of stakeholder engagement that will inform the deliberations, and eventual recommendations, of the Older People’s Housing Taskforce, and is open until 18 September 2023.
The remit of the Taskforce encompasses broadening provision and choice for older people, including supporting them to continue living in their current home if they wish to do so.
The Taskforce will also examine issues faced by older people when seeking to move into more appropriate or specialist housing, and how these can be addressed.
