The Cavendish Coalition of health and social care providers has written to the Prime Minister expressing concerns about changes to UK migration policy announced on 4 December.

In particular, the Coalition is urging the Prime Minister to reconsider the government’s decision not to allow care workers and senior care workers to bring their dependants with them to the UK.

The Coalition also expresses concern about the lack of detail in relation to transitional arrangements, and calls on government to disclose any assessments it has made on how recruitment levels in social care would be affected by the changes.

The Cavendish Coalition is a group health and social care organisations, which includes the Homecare Association, united in their commitment to provide the best care to communities, patients and residents.

The Care Provider Alliance has also issued a press release on the changes to migration policy.
