Continuing healthcare previously unassessed periods of care

The Department of Health and Social Care has published guidance setting out how integrated care boards should approach a request from an individual or third party, for an assessment of a previously unassessed period of care, from 1 April 2012 onwards. This includes information on how to request an assessment and how that assessment should be carried out. Previously unassessed periods of care refer to specific requests to consider eligibility for a past period of care where the individual funded the care themselves, either in full or in part.

CARE logo usage

The Department of Health and Social Care has confirmed that Care Quality Commission registered care providers can still use the CARE logo, if they wish, provided they follow the branding guidelines. (This clarification was in answer to a member query.)

The NHS vaccination strategy has been published, setting out plans for the future delivery of NHS vaccination and immunisation services. The aim is to improve access by expanding online services over the next three years, and booking via the NHS App. People will be able to view their full vaccination record with information and guidance on what vaccinations they should have.
